Hi, Andrew here. Readyprepper is my journey of learning how to become a prepper. Writing about what I learn is the best way to learn new things, as I also believe that other people can learn from it. Knowing that other people might also benefit from my efforts is an important motivator for me so I hope you will find my posts helpful.
Why Prepping?
Living in the times we live and also it becomes more and more important to be safe rather than be a risk taker. Not educating myself about how to be self-sufficient in these strange times would be a great risk. Food shortages, disasters, and pandemics together with other man-made scenarios in the world today are feeling like an increasingly possible scenario in the near future.
Feeling like things might go wrong in the world and not doing anything about it it’s not a good idea. Even if it is just a feeling it’s important to live up to the senses rather than going against them. Bad things may never happen, but the costs of not being prepared look bad on paper, not just in my gut feeling.
Therefore I hope you will enjoy learning together about how to become a prepper if you are feeling the need to be prepared.
Who I am
In my spare time, I am actually quite a regular person. I know that at times prepping is like a taboo kind of thing but I understand that as I used to be thinking like that myself – preppers are delusional and things cannot really go as bad. That was a while ago, but maybe I am a different person now and the world is definitely different today.
I am actually a photographer and I spend a lot of time learning new things from books and from internet sources. Although I do a lot of things online, I am that guy that sometimes needs to close down all electronic devices and just spend some time in peace and quiet. It’s how I recharge. Although I enjoyed it the fast-paced way of things today is not for me anymore. Being prepared for a disaster does make more sense now as things just feel to go too far away somehow. Maybe is an overreaction but even so it’s just a good idea to be prepared and to know what to do in case of SHTF.
I also like playing retro games and I am the kind of person who needs to do something creative to help me do everything else. Writing on this blog it’s also a creative endeavor and I hope that readers will enjoy it and find useful information here to help them and their close ones be safer and more ready for anything that might come.

For a list of my recommended purchases for preppers, you can visit my Resources page. I constantly try to find the cheapest and best value prices on Amazon or wherever I might find them.
Writing for the potential benefit of others is a good motivation. But the expenses and time spent doing this should also cover at least some of the money I lose by not doing something else instead. Therefore expect affiliate links on my blog wherever it might seem fit to recommend a product or a book.
